Harmonize Solid Lotion: The Moisture Moment That Started with Mom
It all began — like most of my favorite creations do — with someone I love.
After the success of Enchant Eye Serum (an incredible eye serum blend I originally made for my cousin), my mom started hinting at something new she needed. Her legs were unbearably dry — no matter what she used, nothing seemed to actually help.
So naturally, I went into research mode.
I was determined to find her a solution (come on this is MOM we're talking about. She deserves it ALL and MORE) and it had to be all-natural, deeply moisturizing, and gentle enough for everyday use. That’s when I stumbled down the rabbit hole of the latest skincare buzz: tallow.
Now, I’m not one to jump on a trend without digging deep. I read every study, watched every formulator’s take, and learned everything about the way tallow interacts with skin. It’s rich in nourishing fatty acids that mimic our skin’s own oils — meaning it actually absorbs beautifully instead of just sitting on top.
But sourcing mattered most to me. If I was going to use it, it had to come from somewhere that aligned with Ella Vatoür’s values — clean, conscious, and connected to nature.
About an hour’s drive from home, I found it: a small, family-run farm. I spoke directly with the family who runs it — they shared stories of their open pastures, their care for the land, and the happy cattle that graze freely all year. I knew right then — this was the right source.
With my tallow connection in place, I went back to my blending bench — searching for the perfect supporting ingredients that would make this lotion feel luxurious, not greasy. I tested, adjusted, and retested — bringing my mom version after version until she finally said, “This is it.”
That’s when Harmonize was born.
